Using Exact Match Keyword:-
Research has shown that exact match keywords give you higher influence than phrase or broad match keywords. Upon strategically placing your targeted exact match keyword within your website correlates with Google rankings. There are many ways you can do it.
- Keyword in Domain name:-
Using the keyword for which you wish to rank on search engine in your domain name will surely count. But using this method exclusively won’t guarantee your ranking.
- Keyword in URL:-
Having your target keyword in your URL will tell the user what your site is about before they even click on it. So whenever there is a search query, Google will highlight the keyword in your URL.
- Keyword in Title:-
To grab the attention of the user, the title needs to be catchy. Having your keyword in the title tells the user and Google as to what the content is all about.
- Keyword in Meta description:-
A Meta description is a short summary of your website. Having your keyword in the meta description (or a short content of your page) will tell user if its relevant to their search query and from here the user can easily decide whether to visit your site or not. Limit your description length to 160 characters and writing a user-friendly Meta description tags will give better CTR or click-through rate.

The way Google decided the page ranks has changed. From now it will be mainly focused on the content on your web page. About 75% of the pages that rank on Google’s top 10 are based on the content. If the keyword used in the content is relevant to the subject then there is a higher chance that you will rank higher even if you don’t follow the above mentioned tips.
You should use heading tags like h1, h2, h3 etc. Though there are 6 heading tags in total but gives priority to up to heading tag h3. This is mainly used to highlight various headings, sub-headings and important points. But make sure you don’t use a heading tag many times as it is considered as a negative SEO practice.
It simply means the number of keywords to the total number of words in your content which should be kept up to 1.5% with mix of LSI keywords. Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI keywords are basically the keywords that are semantically related to your primary keyword. Good practices involve include the main keywords in the very first and last paragraph of the content. Also use bold, italic and underlining the important keyword and phrases.
Addition of Images:-
Using images and using keyword in alt-tags will boost your SEO ranking by giving it more focus and visibility. Images make the content look more appealing and attractive. Also make sure that use a small size image only as big image size may slow down the loading speed of the web page.
Page load time:-
Studies have found out that the website’s that have slow loading speed were not preferred by the users and eventually dropped down in the ranking. As we have already mentioned above, ranking is based on user experience so if your website loads faster than it is highly likely that user will prefer visiting your site.
Writing engaging content:-
It is proven that the longer the content the better. The content should be engaging as well as keyword rich. Best practices involve having about 1000-1500 words in the content. But it should be in detail and very informative else it will lead to higher bounce rate.
Internal and External linking:-
Apart from linking the content within your website, linking your site externally is also a best practice. Linking to trusted websites and sharing your content on social sites may help in getting traffic to your site.
